Djurgarden defender Daniel Amartey has confirmed he is in talks with Liverpool over a January move to Anfield.
The 18-year-old centre back, who can also play in midfield, was picked up by Reds scouts playing for Ghana's U20 team.
And after reading lengthy reports on the player, Brendan Rodgers has given the green light for Liverpool to move to sign him.
It's thought that a £1.5million deal is in the pipeline, and Amartey has confirmed he has already spoken to Rodgers about a move.
"I have been in contact with the Liverpool management," he revealed.
"I hope we can sort a transfer out - it's a great club to play for."
Amartey has already made 22 first-team appearances for Djurgarden and Liverpool are hopeful he could slot into their squad in the new year.
However, they will likely face a battle to win a work permit for the player, as he is not a full Ghana international.
Djurgarden hope to be able to keep Amartey on-loan if a work permit can't be agreed for him to move to the Premier League straight away.
