Mohamed Salah is set to join Liverpool in the January transfer window, according to his former team-mate Mohamed Zika.
Salah is set to be one of the most sought after players when the window re-opens in the new year, having impressed for FC Basel in the Champions League this season.
Chelsea and Manchester United are both rumoured to be front runners for the player, but his close friend and former teammate has revealed Salah will join Liverpool instead.
"Yes, I am 99 per cent sure this will happen," said Zika when asked about Salah joining Liverpool.
"He makes us and all of Egypt proud. Everybody talks about Mohamed Salah now - and aside from that he's my friend.
"I'm very happy for him."
Brendan Rodgers confirmed last week that he plans to splash the cash in January, with the Liverpool manager targeting only 'top talent' that can 'hit the ground running'.
It's thought that Salah would cost about £15million.
