Roma's Philippe Mexes is ready to turn down offers from England in order to sign a deal with Serie A rivals Milan in the summer, according to reports.
The French defender has been in talks with the Giallorossi in an attempt to extend his contract which expires at the end of the season, but the Rossoneri are now poised to sign the 28-year-old on a free transfer.
Sport Vigilio comments that Mexes will sign a four-year deal worth €4.5 million a season to satisfy his aspirations of landing a major contract during the remaining prime years of his career.
Reports from the Italian capital suggest that Mexes also would have had the option to sign for Liverpool or Arsenal, but the deal Milan are willing to offer is too good to refuse.
