Brendan Rodgers wants Swansea's Dutch goalkeeper Michel Vorm to be one of his big summer buys, writes Alan Nixon in the Sunday People.
Liverpool boss Rodgers last week insisted that he wanted to bring in several new faces during the next transfer window.
And Hotline can reveal that former Swansea gaffer Rodgers has had his eye on Vorm since moving to Anfield - and is now poised to bid around £7million for the 30-year-old.
Vorm formed a key part of Rodgers' side at the Liberty Stadium with his shot-saving ability allied to an excellent use of the ball at his feet.
Rodgers signed Belgian keeper Simon Mignolet, 26, from Sunderland at the start of this campaign for £9m on a five-year deal but he wants competition.
And with Liverpool back in the Champions League, Rodgers thinks there is a need for a second senior No.1 at Anfield.
Vorm would jump at a move to Merseyside and the chance to compete for first-team action - and Mignolet will benefit from the challenge.
It is thought that having Vorm fighting him for his place would sharpen his game.
Right now, Liverpool only have 32-year-old Aussie Brad Jones as cover and Rodgers wants a new top-line keeper to join the Merseysiders.
Jones is still required and may even be offered a new deal shortly as he is seen as a perfect squad man.
However, Rodgers' pursuit of Vorm shows that he is in the mood to spend and upgrade this summer.
