Reds eyeing Porto ace Fernando

Liverpool are following Porto midfielder Fernando.

The young Brazilian is being considered by Reds chief Damien Comolli after they lost Lucas Leiva for the season with a knee injury.

Fernando, also regarded highly by Chelsea's former Porto coach Andre Villas-Boas, is a defensive, ball-winning midfielder similar to Lucas.

Only last week, there was talk in the Lisbon press that Fernando could be sacrificed by Porto during the winter market.
