Reds lead pursuit of Bologna striker

Liverpool are leading the chase to sign Bologna striker Gaston Ramirez.

Ramirez, 21, has been impressive for the Italian club over the last two seasons and is rated one of the best young forwards in Serie A.

Reports in Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport suggest that Liverpool have emerged as the strong favourites to clinch his signature.

Kenny Dalglish is keen to strengthen his squad in January and add some more competition to his forward line.

Ramirez has already made his breakthrough into the Uruguay national side and is keen to showcase his talents at the highest level.
