Real Madrid attacking midfielder Esteban Granero is being linked with a move to Liverpool where Kenny Dalglish is looking for cover.
Dalglish is looking for additions up front and the 24-year-old, who is finding first team football hard to come by at the Bernabeu, can operate as an attacking midfielder or as another striker.
Real coach Jose Mourinho has indicated he will allow the former Spanish U21 player to move on if they can land a permanent deal for him this January but Liverpool are keener on a loan after the boss ruled out making any permanent signings during the current window.
The club has also been tracking Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila, but are unlikely to make a move until the summer.
