Liverpool striker target Teo Gutierrez has been made available for transfer - but only if the price is right.
The Racing Club de Avellaneda hitman has been in top form this season, attracting interest from Europe after hitting six goals in just 15 appearances for the Argentine Primera División.
With Luis Suarez set to miss eight games over the coming months and Liverpool struggling to find form in-front of goal, particularly at Anfield, the whispers have already started in the English press over which forwards could be on the radar in Merseyside.
And now, talkSPORT claims Colombian international Gutierrez has emerged on the Reds' January wish-list, with Liverpool considering a gamble on the player who struggled to settle during his time in Turkey.
Rodolfo Molina, vice-president of La Academia, has also admitted that offers will be considered, although nothing concrete has been placed in-front of them as yet.
"There is no formal proposals for Teo Gutierrez, just words but no realities," he told paper Ole.
"When we receive an actual proposal we will study the numbers hard. The club does not reject the sale, but we will only negotiate on his real value."
Gutierrez built his reputation in South America at Barranquilla and Junior before moving to Trabzonspor in January 2010. But, after just over a year with the club, he returned to his homeland without their permission, and was sold to Racing Club.
It is the Estadio Juan Domingo Perón where he has rebuilt his reputation, and where his form has reportedly impressed Liverpool.
Kenny Dalglish will be evaluating his options ahead of the window re-opening on January 1st, with a lack of strength-in-depth at the front end of the pitch a potential issue for the Merseysiders to resolve.
With Andy Carroll still searching for form and goals, the only other senior front-man within their ranks is the versatile Dirk Kuyt. Craig Bellamy could also be asked to lead the line for Liverpool, reverting to his old role from a now more orthodox position out wide.
