Liverpool may well step up their interest in Newcastle's Demba Ba after it was revealed his release clause was less than £10m.
Even at £10m Liverpool were one of the club's interested in taking the striker who has netted 15 times already this season, but at around half that figure almost every club in the Premier League will be on his trail.
The Reds have been strongly linked with Aston Villa's Darren Bent as they look to improve in front of goal but with Ba available for a knockdown fee they are more likely to move for him.
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp revealed the clause for Ba to leave Newcastle could be half of the £10m suggested, when asked about the £10m clause for the former West Ham ace, Redknapp said: "I think you will find it is a lot less than that."
Asked if was as little as £7m, Redknapp added: "Even less than that."
