Pepe Reina has agreed terms on a new deal that would tie his long-term future to Liverpool until 2015.
Reina, on duty with Spain at present, is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe and his development since joining Liverpool from Villarreal in 2005 prompted his club to offer him an improved contract to reward his form and reflect his status.
The 27-year-old is on course to win his fourth Golden Gloves award for the most clean sheets kept in a Barclays Premier League season.
