Rafa Benitez wants to add another right back to his squad to cover for injured summer signing Glen Johnson's absence.
The England international is still out recovering from medial ligament damage and is expected to be out for some time to come. Liverpool's injury worries are mounting and Rafa wants to assure he's getting the best out of his most important players.
Despite impressing in the position for most of Johnson's time out, vice captain Jamie Carragher was given a tough time by Wolves winger Matthew Jarvis on Tuesday and Benitez wants to bring him back into his preferred and more effective position in the center as Liverpool's poor form this season continues.
With neither Philipp Degen nor Stephen Darby impressing in the role so far, and promising youngster Martin Kelly also sidelined, the race for a short term replacement is on for the Merseysiders.
However the Spaniard told the Liverpool Echo that he won't be rushed into panic buying;
"We have to be careful with what we do. There are not too many good players around who are available and we will think about it. We still have some time but we will not rush if we cannot find the right player for this position."
Valencia's Miguel Monteiro, Wolves' Richard Stearman and Manchester City's Nedum Onuoha are all potential targets.
