Scout confirms defender interest

Liverpool are reportedly on the transfer trail of FC Copenhagen's Oscar Wendt and FC Basel's Behrang Safari.

Club scout Jakob Friis-Hansen revealed he was monitoring both in an interview with Danish newspaper The Expressen, paying particular attention to former Spurs target Wendt.

''We are keeping a good eye on Oscar," he said.

"He does a great job, but he must play at a high level every week. In Denmark, there are just a few high-quality games."
