Sources close to Valencia winger Juan Mata say the Spanish Under 21 starlet would welcome an approach from Liverpool once the European Championship finals are concluded next week.
Spain take on Switzerland in tomorrow's semi finals and are expected to go all the way, with Mata playing a key role.
Liverpool have expressed an interest in the recent past, and Kenny Dalglish could be tempted to make a move in the next week or two. "If Liverpool are interested, then the player would also be interested to hear from them," said the source.
"While they are not playing in Europe next season, that would not be a hindrance, because Liverpool is a club with a big tradition.
"Yes, it's true that there have been rumours linking Mata to Liverpool but I can say that so far there has been no formal contact or offer from the club."
The source added: "Mata has offers on the table from Premier league teams that are in the Champions League next season.
"For now, he just wants to focus on the national team in Denmark at the moment but as soon as that is over he will consider his future.
"Mata is due back in Spain next week. There is a lot of speculation linking him to a move to the Premier League so he will sit down and make a decision about his future then."
