Liverpool are planning a summer move for Southampton defender Dejan Lovren, after the Saints beat the Reds to his signature last summer.
The Croatian centre-back has had a fine season with the Hampshire club and has established himself as one of the league's most solid defenders.
The Saints bought the 24-year-old from Lyon for £8.5million in June, but are expecting to receive bids for him now he has proved he is capable at Premier League level.
Manchester United have already made enquiries for the defender, and according to the Mirror, Liverpool are the latest club to throw their hat into the ring as they look to strengthen their back four.
Lovren has probably doubled in value since his move to the Saints and could be the subject of a bidding war between Liverpool and Manchester United.
However, Liverpool could have the advantage now they look certain to be able to offer Champions League football.
