TalkSport: Borini future doubt (VIDEO)

The future of Liverpool target Fabio Borini has been plunged into further doubt as the player's co-owning clubs, Parma and Roma, appear unlikely to reach an agreement on the player's ownership.

Borini joined Parma from Chelsea last July, before being sent out on loan to Roma the following month.

The capital city club, impressed by Borini's displays during the first half of the season, paid Parma £1.8m in January to secure half of his ownership rights.

However, as revealed by talkSPORT yesterday, Roma and Parma entered negotiations to decide where the forward would be playing next season.

Roma were set a deadline of 7pm on Friday to decide whether or not to meet Borini's buyout clause, with the Stadio Olimpico side and Parma required to enter a blind auction to bid for the player's full ownership rights if an agreement is not reached.

And according to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, who worked with Borini during his time at Swansea, is poised to offer £8m once the player's ownership rights situation is resolved.
