Manchester United and Liverpool are among a quartet of clubs looking to scupper Lazio's bid to keep Antonio Candreva at the Stadio Olimpico.
Lazio currently share midfielder Candreva's ownership rights with Udinese but are looking to redeem the other half to 'own' his rights outright. It is believed Udinese could sell their 50 per cent stake in the Italy international for a fee of around £5.8m.
But north-west giants United and Liverpool, as well as Juventus and Napoli, are keen on the 27-year-old, who has impressively netted eight times in 30 Serie A outings this season.
Sources in Italy claim the former Ternana man, whose is aware of interest in his services, will seek a pay-rise of around £750,000 a-year to remain at Lazio - and that could encourage United and Liverpool to firm up their interest with a bid in the summer transfer window.
