Hamburg are confident of keeping Turkey international Hakan Calhanoglu out of the clutches of Liverpool and Arsenal.
The Premier League duo are both keen on the 19-year-old - as talkSPORT revealed last week - and the player's agent said he expected an imminent offer from the Gunners.
The Germany-born playmaker is in the midst of a breakthrough campaign at Hamburg, where he has scored four times in 15 league outings.
And the Bundesliga club is now ready to offer the youngster a new long-term contract to keep hold of him.
Hamburg sporting director Oliver Kreuzer insists the teenager is content at the club and says he will try to extend his stay at the Imtech Arena beyond the summer of 2016.
"We want to extend his contract until 2018," he is quoted as saying on TMW.
"We know he appeals to many clubs, but he's alright here in Hamburg and he sees his immediate future with us and not with other clubs. We are optimistic about reaching an agreement."
