Liverpool have joined Inter Milan in the race to sign wantaway Paris Saint-Germain striker Ezequiel Lavezzi in the January transfer window.
According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the Argentina international is on borrowed time at the Parc des Princes after he reportedly turned down a new deal and PSG are now ready to cash in on the 29-year-old.
Brendan Rodgers' side have been linked with the forward for some time and it is thought a bid in the region of £8million will prise Lavezzi away from the French capital.
Although Inter are contenders for his signature, it has been reported that sources close to Lavezzi have revealed his desire to test himself in the Premier League rather than return to Serie A, where he previously had spells with Genoa and Napoli.
The Nerazzurri are reportedly close to finalising a deal to sign Arsenal hitman Lukas Podolski, which could leave the Reds in pole position to land Lavezzi next month.
Lavezzi, who has hit only two goals in 18 appearances this term, is out of contract at PSG in 2016.
