Napoli midfielder Gokhan Inler insists he is unaware of mooted interest from Liverpool.

Brendan Rodgers is on the lookout for midfield reinforcements - he is also tracking Porto's Fernando - and he has been linked with Inler.

The 29-year-old is in his third season at Napoli, where he is working with former Reds boss Rafa Benitez.

But despite reports of a possible future approach from Liverpool, the Switzerland international is adamant he is in the dark over a potential switch to Anfield.

He told TMW: "I do not read the news. Napoli is important to me and I will always give my best for this shirt."
