Galatasaray and Turkish international Arda Turan has alerted Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez by admitting he is a Liverpool fan, and eager to secure a summer switch to the Merseyside club.
Liverpool have serially linked with the talented Turkish international, along with Barcelona and Premier League rivals Arsenal for the last six months.
In 2008 Spanish publication Don Balon voted Turan as the 8th best starlet in world football, while his club side gave Turan the famous Galatasaray number 10 shirt worn by Gheorghe Hagi and the captaincy at the tender age of 22. The hype has prompted interest from Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez, and Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola, with all three managers confirmed as sending scouts to watch the playmaker.
Turan, currently 23, is eager to secure a move away form Turkish football, admitting his dream is to play at Anfield for the club he supports. The news will come as a snub to Arsene Wenger and Pep Guardiola's interest.
Turan told UEFA.com: "Of course I want to play abroad but it is our board's decision. As I always mention, Liverpool attracts me because of their tradition. In Europe, I am a Liverpool supporter, so if I go to play in Europe, I would like to play for them.
"My dream has always been to play for one of the top European clubs, but you shouldn't make concrete plans in your life because sometimes these plans cannot be achieved. This is my dream, but for now I'm just working on my football."
