Katie Price has been announced as the new disabled supporters representative for the committee.

Our Disabled Supporters' representative recently attended a meeting with regards to the closure of the Tinsley Street whilst the major redevelopment works are underway in the area around the stadium.

Due to this closure, the Disabled drop-off point has been relocated and is now situated on Anfield Road at the head of the central reservation of Utting Avenue between Arkles Road and Wylva Road. To view a map showing the exact location click here.

This area will be operational from the Aston Villa fixture on Saturday September 13, 2014. Signage will be in place to indicate the new location and it will be monitored by match day officials, who will be on duty two hours before the start of the game. Please note that this area is only available pre-match.

Information regarding the temporary disabled drop-off point is available on the 'Getting to Anfield' page online here, communicated in all pre-match staff briefings and stewards will carry printed copies of the map on matchday.

Any disabled supporters who use the drop-off area, and are happy to do so, can send feedback about their experience, or suggestions for improvement to:

All match-going fans should be aware that there is likely to be disruption whilst the works are underway and are advised to visit the LFC website for the most up-to-date information and to allow extra time for getting to and from Anfield.

YNWA Martin Geddes 1976-2014

Martin Geddes, a lifelong red who was well-loved by many sadly passed away suddenly on August 17, 2014, aged 38. Martin was a regular at Anfield where he would often be found enjoying himself by amusing those around him - he would even joke with the goalkeeper when he sat behind the goal in the Kop! 

It was always entertaining to sit next to Mart at a match. I first sat by him at the FA Cup final in Cardiff in 2006, where, despite the stress of the final he was still able to make me laugh, trying to sell me one of the 20 programmes he had bought!

His favourite viewing spot at Anfield was sitting on the raised platform area in Paddock 9, overlooking the pitch. Here, he was well looked after by LFC disability steward Denise and seemed to be completely at home, fondly referring to it as "sitting on the shelf with Denise"!

Mart had a passion for life, playing wheelchair basketball as a young man took him all the way to the Sydney Paralympics in 2000. Mart worked for Merseytravel for several years, where he made some life-long friends, who described him as, "one of the best, kind, caring, funny and the biggest LFC supporter ever".

It was a testament to him how many people turned up for his funeral, the chapel was packed and many stood outside in the sunshine. As requested people wore red and sang "You'll Never Walk Alone" waving their LFC scarves.

But it is impossible not to think of Mart without smiling and remembering the numerous occasions when one of his comments gave everyone around him the giggles. RIP Mart, you are sadly missed by your family, friends, LFC and the wider red family.

August 26, 2014 - Report from meeting with Manchester City

In advance of our match at the Ethiad stadium the other week, Paul Amann, Vice Chair of the Supporters' Committee attended a meeting with Manchester City football club and Greater Manchester Police. The purpose of the meeting was to inform us of the changes at that stadium following the ongoing development, so that this information could be relayed to the travelling fans.

Following the match, Manchester City Football Club have been in touch to thank the fans for their support and assistance. We have been advised that all supporters arrived early and were all in for kick off. All were supportive of the operation that had been put in place.

The Supporters' Committee welcomes such open communication from other clubs and this greatly assists the fans on their travels.

Leading the agenda for the latest Liverpool FC Supporters' Committee fan forum is 'memberships and bulk sales', with the free event taking place from 7pm-8.30pm BST on Friday August 15.

August 8, 2014 - New Supporters' Committee members named

The Liverpool FC Supporters' Committee has named four new representatives in the categories of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender, LFC Official Supporters' Clubs, Non-Season Ticket Holders and Members, and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic.

During recent months, a selected panel shortlisted the applications for each position before fans were invited to vote for the person they believed would best represent their constituency via the club's official website.

The committee are pleased to announce the four successful candidates: Paul Amann, who will represent Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT); Nausherwan Effandi, who will represent LFC Official Supporters' Clubs; Roy Heaney, who will represent Non-Season Ticket Holders and Members; Yunus Lunat, who will represent Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME).

Counting of the votes was overseen by Kevin Milles, chief executive of the Football Supporters' Federation, and the new representatives are now eager to begin working with the committee.

Karen Gill, honorary president of the Supporters' Committee, welcomed the new recruits: "On behalf of the Liverpool FC Supporters' Committee, I'd like to extend a very warm welcome to our four new members.

"We are all really looking forward to working as a team in the future. I'm certain that they will be a positive addition to the committee and that the different qualities they bring, along with their enthusiasm and love for Liverpool FC, will be great assets in helping to achieve the goals of the committee.

"I'd also like to thank the candidates who have stepped down from these posts, for all their hard work and support over the last few years - Richard Pedder, who represented LFC Official Supporters' Clubs, Laurence Whitehead, who represented Non-Season Ticket Holders and Members, Abu Nasir, who represented Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic, and I'd like to welcome back Paul Amann, who has been re-elected to represent Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender."

May 20, 2014 - LFC Marks IDAHOBIT

Liverpool Football Club celebrated International Day Against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia at a special ceremony at Anfield on Saturday.

The club hosted an event for 30 invited guests, which included a guided tour of the stadium and interactive museum.

The Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Gary Millar and Paul Amann, Liverpool FC Supporters' Committee LGBT representative both made short addresses to the guests about the importance of IDAHOBIT.

The date of May 17, 1990 commemorates the day the World Health Organisation removed homosexuality from its list of mental diseases.

Over 80 countries in the world still criminalize same sex relationships while in many countries lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and those who identify as transgender are often attacked simply for their sexuality or gender identity.

IDAHOBIT is now celebrated in more than 120 countries, with advocates staging hundreds of activities, events and actions all over the world that unite millions of people in support for the upholding of human rights for all, irrespective of sexual orientation or gender identity or expression.

Michelle Kirk, equality and inclusion advisor at Liverpool Football Club, said: "Liverpool FC is committed to promoting equality and diversity and wanted to mark this day with the key organisations it works alongside to help promote inclusion and raise awareness."

Paul Amann, Liverpool FC Supporters' Committee LGBT representative, added: "This year's marking of IDAHOBIT by Liverpool FC is another first and I am proud that the club is choosing to affirm its commitment to LGBT people and recognise our place in the LFC Family."

May 2, 2014 - Gerrard praises portrait by talented artist

Steven Gerrard today heaped praise on Matthew Rhodes, for the LFC fan's painted portrait of the Liverpool skipper.

Matthew, a blind war veteran, lost his sight and is part-paralysed following a motorcycle accident sustained in 1995 and was encouraged by the Blind Veterans UK - a national charity for blind ex-servicemen and women - to take up painting - something the lifelong Reds fan found he had an unlikely talent for.

Liverpool's very own captain fantastic was an obvious choice for Matthew - "I have painted many people before and as a Red it made sense for me to paint one of its top players" - and on completion the hope was that Gerrard would sign the portrait so it could be auctioned off to raise money for the Blind Veterans UK.

LFC's disabled supporters' representative, Jeanette Dodd, organised the signing of the painting by the No.8, who was clearly impressed by Rhodes' work.

"I was really impressed with the painting and I think that Matthew did capture a good likeness of me," said Gerrard. "His talent and technique is illustrated in this piece, which I was more than happy to sign."

The painting will be placed at auction in aid of the Blind Veterans UK charity in early 2015, when it is hoped it will generate some much-needed funds.

The Supporters' Committee will hold another fan forum event, open to all Reds supporters, from 7pm-8.30pm BST on Friday, May 9 at the Sandon, when the subject of discussion will be 'The Stadium Expansion'.

Following on from the previous Liverpool FC Supporters' Committee fans forum, held in February at the Sandon, the club has responded to some of the questions that were raised by fans who attended the event. Please find the updates below.

*When asked about the competitive focus of the club, LFC advised that the club is competing regularly for European places and challenging to win cup competitions. The club is also striving to have a healthy balance sheet and comply within the Financial Fair Play regulations.

*You wanted to know how the club categorises games into the categories A, B and C. LFC have explained that this categorising method is a historic policy introduced to help sales in certain games, which has now continued to differentiate between the bigger clubs and others in the division. The Supporters' Committee has asked the club to review this policy in the long term and hope to consult with the club on this going forward.

*You wanted to know what the ticket price increases are based upon, i.e. inflation or average wage increase. LFC have informed the Supporters' Committee that answers to these questions will be picked up as part of the ticketing pricing announcements.

*You suggested that the club create its own model for selling tickets. LFC have said that they believe the club is already pretty unique in the way tickets are sold. However, the club will continue to explore a number of options for the future and the Supporters' Committee will keep fans informed.

April 8, 2014 - Price reduction for final away games

Liverpool Football Club has announced today that it will subsidise tickets for its final two away games of the season by £10.

The reduction will be applicable on away tickets for the two remaining away fixtures against Norwich City on Sunday, April 20 and Crystal Palace on Monday, May 5, 2014.

Tickets for the Norwich fixture will be priced at £40 (£50 full price) for adults (including disabled tickets), £30 (£40) for over 65s, £20 (£30) for juniors (under 17) and £10 (£20) for under 12s.

For the Crystal Palace fixture, tickets will be priced at £30 (£40) for adults. Tickets for disabled, over 65s, and full-time students are priced at  £16 (£26). Junior (under 18) tickets cost £10 (£20).

The subsidy is part of a Premier League initiative, which sees each club allocate £200,000 to be used specifically to improve the away supporters' experience and maintain away attendances.

Last year, following consultation with its official Supporters' Committee, the club made a commitment to reduce all away tickets by £2 to £4, depending on the opposition, throughout the 2013-14 season.

Liverpool's managing director, Ian Ayre, said: "Liverpool Football Club has the highest away support following in the Premier League and we want to maintain and reward that.

"We consulted with our official Supporters' Committee and agreed that a reduction in away ticket prices was the best way to achieve this.

"Visiting supporters really do create that unique matchday atmosphere and form part of what makes the Premier League great. It's important for the club to continue to support the travelling fans who play a massive role in backing the team, which will be really important as the season draws to a close."

A Liverpool FC Supporters' Committee spokesperson added: "We have had several discussions with the club regarding the cost of tickets for the remaining away games and welcome this level of reduction for supporters, especially as the Norwich fixture has been subject to changes in time and date, making it difficult for travelling fans to reach."

March 28, 2014 - Adam Walker memorabilia sale

A vast collection of football memorabilia belonging to a devoted Kopite, who tragically passed away last year after a long battle with cerebral palsy and cystic fibrosis, is to be made available for purchase.

The online sale features more than 200 football shirts collected by life-long Liverpool fan Adam Walker and includes dozens of pieces signed by some of the biggest names in the game from across the Premier League.

Adam's memorabilia will go on sale on AuctionmyStuff.com from March 31, 2014.

Lots include a group of 2006-07 England football shirts comprising of over 16 signatures, including that of John Terry, David Beckham and Wayne Rooney.

There's also a batch of Liverpool memorabilia, which includes shirts signed by Xabi Alonso, Djibril Cisse and Pepe Reina.

Adam's journey into collecting football memorabilia began in November 2001 when he went to his first game, Derby v Liverpool, where he was sat just outside the players' entrance.

This enabled him to ask for his first ever signatures, which came willingly from Steven Gerrard and Michael Owen.

As a result of his trips to Anfield, as well as Ewood Park and several other stadiums across England, Adam met virtually every player in the Premier League, some of whom he started to count as friends.

He developed a particularly close relationship with Owen, who would ensure he came to see Adam after every match to discuss the game. This continued until Owen's retirement at the end of last season. 

Owen said of Adam: "I remember meeting him for the first time and it was immediately obvious how passionate he was about everything Liverpool FC.

"He was such a funny and genuine person with an incredibly positive outlook on life. Adam was always looking for ways to help other people and never let his condition stop him from doing what he wanted and for that very reason he is an inspiration. It was a real privilege to have met him."

Adam suffered from cerebral palsy and cystic fibrosis, which meant he could not sit unsupported, walk or use his hands. Football was his passion and his release.

After a long battle with his illness, Adam sadly passed away on September 26, 2013. His dad, Alan, said: "Adam was a courageous, fearless and determined young man, who I am incredibly proud of.

"I would like to thank the many Premiership footballers who always had time to chat and sign his items which truly made his day and enabled him to accumulate a phenomenal collection of football memorabilia.

"In particular, I extend heartfelt thanks to Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher, who between them signed for Adam hundreds of times over the years."

A portion of the money generated from the sale will be put in a trust for Adam's young nieces, in keeping with his wishes, with the remaining money to be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and the Chailey Heritage Trust.

Online bidding will be available from Monday, March 31 and continue until April 20 at www.auctionmystuff.com. There will also be a second sale later this year for other items from Adam's collection, including programmes, year books, clothing and an assortment of other memorabilia.

March 23, 2014 - Friendship match at the Academy

Liverpool Football Club hosted a friendship match on Sunday in celebration of LGBT History Month and the Level Playing Field week of action.

Liverpool's Ability Counts team took on Mersey Marauders FC at the Kirkby Academy to celebrate the club's ongoing commitment to equality and inclusion. 

Marauders FC were in impressive form en route to winning the game 11-3 and lifting the trophy.

LFC's Ability Counts team, which has been running for 11 years, encourages all disabled footballers to join, train and play in competitive matches against other Ability Counts teams across the county.

They have won various titles for the club including; the Northwest League title, the National FA Cup and in 2010 and 2013, the European Disabled Cup.

Marauders FC are Liverpool's only football team for gay men. Established in 2005, they train every week and new players of any ability are welcomed.

They joined the national 11-a-side gay football league (GFSN) last season in Division 3 and went on to win it. They have also won the Gay Football Supporters' Network Cup and are currently top of Division 2 with the hope of being promoted to the top-flight next season.

Michelle Kirk, LFC's equality and inclusion advisor, said: "As a club, we ensure that we encourage an inclusive atmosphere for all fans, regardless of the colour of their skin, ethnic origin, religious beliefs or sexual orientation.

"We are proud to work with LGBT History Month and Level Playing Fields to help remove discrimination and prejudice, and promote the message that everyone should be able to enjoy football."

Chris Wright, chairman of Mersey Marauders FC, added: "It was great for the team to be involved in this game. We enjoyed the challenge and the experience of playing at the Academy against the LFC Ability Counts team.

"It is so important to continue to work towards breaking down prejudicial barriers and increase awareness of the diverse community here in the city and beyond." 

March 18, 2014 - Donate a scarf in tribute to the 96

Liverpool Football Club is encouraging sports fans to join hundreds of others from around the world in donating a scarf to remember the 96 supporters who lost their lives at Hillsborough.

The Reds have launched a campaign to create a global sign of unity at the annual memorial service on Tuesday, April 15, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the disaster.

The club are asking fans, followers and institutions of any sport - not just football - to donate a scarf, with all received to be laid out on the pitch at Anfield on the day of the service in the shape of the number '96'.

Anybody wishing to make a donation is also encouraged to write a personal note to the Hillsborough families on their chosen item, as an additional sign of support in the 25th year since the tragedy occurred.

International supporters are advised to check international postage times, costs and import logistics ahead of sending their donation; the club will not be able to pay for postage of donated scarves.

After the service, the club's official charity, the Liverpool FC Foundation, will donate all scarves to local good causes, including homeless charities, along with a signed item of LFC memorabilia. Therefore, the club unfortunately will not be able to return donated scarves.

March 6, 2014 - LFC's disabled supporters to benefit from new improvements

Liverpool Football Club has announced a number of improvements that will enhance the overall service and match day experience for its loyal disabled fanbase and visiting supporters who are wheelchair users.

The improvements, which have been developed in partnership with the official Liverpool FC Supporters' Committee and the Liverpool Disabled Supporters Association, include; 11 additional wheelchair bays in the Kop and a new disabled toilet facility for the 2014-15 season. Furthermore, this season a dedicated steward has been introduced in the Anfield Road end of the stadium for away fans who are wheelchair users.

The club has also made a commitment to continue to offer discounted ticket prices to all of its disabled fans following consultation with the Liverpool FC Supporters' Committee.

Vice-chair of the Liverpool FC Supporters' Committee and disabled supporters' representative, Jeanette Dodd, said: "The Supporters' Committee is an important platform for all equality strands of the fanbase. It gives the supporters a voice and a direct link into the club to discuss what is important to them.

"I am very pleased with the progress that the Supporters' Committee is making with the club for disabled fans and satisfied that important improvements are being actioned."

The Liverpool FC Supporters' Committee have been invited to a consultation meeting to voice any views, concerns or comments in relation to the recently launched Spatial Regeneration Framework document.

The SRF - which you can view by clicking here - outlines details of the proposed regeneration of the Anfield area, including the stadium redevelopment.

Although individuals can make their own feelings known and opportunities exist for them to do so, the Supporters' Committee feels that the idea of raising issues as a collective may give a greater influence to the outcome and wish to represent supporters' views during this opportunity.

January 24, 2014 - Supporters' Committee meets club's owners

Members of the official Liverpool FC Supporters' Committee met with the club's owners over the weekend to discuss some of the key areas that fans have raised recently with the committee.

The discussion included an update on the proposed stadium expansion, the owners' attendance at meetings, and ticket prices and initiatives for families.

Bob Humphries (chair), Jeanette Dodd (vice-chair) and James Benson (Merseyside fans representative) from the Supporters' Committee put the points to John W. Henry, Tom Werner and Linda Pizzuti.

The Supporters' Committee, which is made up of 12 members who represent all of the major fan constituencies, meets with senior club staff four times a year - but individual members also meet with club staff on a more regular basis to discuss more timely issues.

Whenever the owners are in Liverpool, there is always an appetite to arrange a meeting to give members of the Supporters' Committee the opportunity to raise fans' points first-hand.

The committee opened the meeting with its first topic around the commitment from the owners to attend, where possible, the wider group meetings. The committee also rose that it was concerned that fans were not aware of the work they do with the club.

The owners reaffirmed their full commitment to the Supporters' Committee and said that it's not always possible to fit into the pre-arranged dates for the meetings. However, they are committed to meeting up and engaging whenever they are in Liverpool.

The owners also agreed to the club providing further support to help the committee provide more visibility of the work they're doing with the club.

The committee then asked for an update on the proposed stadium expansion. Principal owner Henry confirmed that he was pleased with progress but there is still a lot of work to be done which is out of the club's hands.

"We remain supportive of Liverpool City Council's and Your Housing Group's Anfield Vision, which was launched in June last year, to transform the Anfield area," said Henry.

"Since then, a tremendous amount of work has been done by the club around the feasibility of any proposed stadium expansion. Any final decision continues to be based on certainty.

"Certainty that we can obtain the necessary land around the stadium to facilitate any expansion; certainty that there is demand for any future expansion; certainty that we have home owners' support; and certainty that we will be able to navigate the complex planning landscape.

"We are very positive with the progress to date and will continue to be fully supportive of the regeneration project."

The final topic was around ticket prices in general and in respect of families and young people being able to attend matches.

This topic covered some of the initiatives that the club has introduced recently, including reducing the junior season ticket to £200, reducing Category C games for juniors to £5, and improvements to the Family Park which adds value to the matchday experience.

Whilst the committee acknowledged that some improvements had been made on ticket prices and season ticket price freezes, they were keen to emphasise that the overall costs of supporting the team is now becoming prohibitive to some supporters and the view among some fans was that ticket prices are too expensive.

Emphasis was given to the fact that prices are by far the most emotive issue for fans and the one raised most frequently with the committee. They encouraged the club to look at every opportunity given to build revenue from other sources in an attempt to help with the price of tickets.

The committee also referred to ticket prices compared to those in Germany, the pricing of tickets in the Barclays Premier League and non-classification of games.

The owners reiterated the points that influence around ticket prices, including the desire to compete at the highest level, Financial Fair Play and having a fair tier structure throughout the stadium.

After the meeting, Henry added: "We had a really good discussion today. The Supporters' Committee is an excellent platform which enables us to listen and debate some of the key topics that fans are raising.

"We will again review everything we talked about today and look to schedule time so we can attend future meetings.

"If any fans do have points that they would like to raise with me or the club then I would urge them to contact their respective member of the committee."

November 27, 2013 - Supporters' Committee latest

Following on from the recent joint meeting between the Supporters' Committee (SC) and the club on the 'Away Supporter Experience', a further discussion took place looking at some of the issues in more detail.

*It was confirmed that the reciprocal deal with Cardiff will come out of the £200K which was allocated by the club to support the away fan experience. The planned £2 discount for this game will, however, not apply, with this money remaining in the allocation.

*The allocation of away tickets is currently based on loyalty and it is clear that this is a difficult and emotive subject that will require a lot of thought and discussion. The SC, however, will continue to explore all possibilities as all fans should have some opportunity of getting tickets.

* Due to television, some fixture changes can lead to games being moved to a Monday evening. The Premier League wants to encourage away supporters to attend and help create the atmosphere. With this in mind, the SC have asked the club to raise the issue at the next Premier League meeting, with a view of asking the TV companies to subsidise the cost of tickets for the away fans who are penalised by such changes; for example, time off work, limited transport etc.

* Touting of tickets is becoming a bigger problem and needs to be addressed. Supporters need to be aware that if they have purchased a ticket and it ends up being sold at inflated prices, then they could be subject to an investigation and be penalised.

Due to time constraints, it wasn't possible to discuss all of the actions from the committee meeting on November 10. It was agreed that these meetings will be held regularly so the remaining points and ongoing issues will be discussed when we next catch up.

November 19, 2013 - Adam Walker 1981-2013

My friend and fellow Red Adam Walker sadly passed away at the end of September aged just 31.

Adam was born in Southport, Merseyside, and was a passionate LFC supporter all his life. He refused to let either cerebral palsy or cystic fibrosis prevent him from living his life on his own terms, or indeed from following his beloved reds.

From the moment he could talk Adam began campaigning for better services and facilities for disabled people. When he was nine years old, Adam joined a young people's group at his school and gave advice on ways to make improvements and offer choice to disabled children. One of his early campaigns, aged 10, was for his human right to stay up until midnight - not surprisingly, this campaign proved to be unsuccessful!

As a teenager, Adam used his support of Liverpool FC to contribute to research about growing up with complex health needs, saying: "I try to think of different ways to do things. When I'm most relaxed with myself... is when I'm watching football, because then I'm not any different, it's 45,000 people all in red..."

In 1998 Adam joined Triangle, an organisation working to enable disabled children's communication. Here he trained more than 5,000 professionals (including doctors, social workers, police officers, care workers, teachers and lawyers) to communicate better with disabled children and influenced many others through the films he was involved in.

In 2003, when LFC had the idea to set up the Liverpool Disabled Supporters Association, Adam was a founder committee member. I first met him in 2004 and immediately saw how he used his unique experience, combined with a wicked sense of humour to campaign for others. I will remember Adam as a passionate LFC fan, an outrageous flirt and as someone who always had a cheeky twinkle in his eye.

His love of Liverpool Football Club, and football in general led to Adam accumulating one of the most extraordinary collections of sports memorabilia. Estimated by his family to be around 500 items, including several signed Liverpool FC shirts and programmes, his vast collection will be sold and the money raised put in trust for his young nieces, in keeping with Adam's wishes. As one of his fellow supporters said, it was typical of Adam to still be thinking of others right to the end.

Even at his funeral, those of us present were giggling between our tears when we had to sing Adam's rewrite of the lyrics to "You'll never walk alone".

Drive on, Drive on, with hope in your heart
He never walked at all
He never walked at all

It was impossible not to smile when singing "He never walked at all" and Adam would have enjoyed that.

RIP Adam Walker, you are unforgettable and will live on in many people's memories.

October 27, 2013 - Committee to host open forum

Ahead of their next meeting, the Liverpool FC Supporters' Committee has organised an open forum event concerning the 'away supporters experience', as part of ongoing objectives to increase the level of engagement with all fan groups.

The forum will be held between 11am and 12.30pm on Saturday, November 9 - the day Liverpool host Fulham at Anfield - at the Liverpool Supporters Club, 212 Lower Breck Road, Liverpool, L6 0AQ.

Issues regarding the away supporters experience will also form part of the discussion when the Supporters' Committee holds its latest official meeting with LFC the following day.

October 15, 2013 - New trio of Supporters' Committee members announced

The Liverpool FC Supporters' Committee has successfully concluded its search for three new representatives in the categories of international supporters (east), away supporters, and families and young people. 

On Tuesday, the committee announced the three successful candidates: Matthew Selby will represent international supporters (east); Anna Burgess will represent away supporters; Laura Woodcock will represent families and young people.

Matthew said: "I am so happy, being part of committees is something I enjoy, and to be part of this is just a dream come true."

Anna said: "I am delighted to be given this opportunity and really looking forward to working with the club and also the fans as the elected representative."

Laura said: "I am delighted to be voted onto the Supporters' Committee; as a lifelong Liverpool supporter, a parent and a promoter of youth football, I am thoroughly looking forward to being the link between Liverpool FC and the supporters to provide the best experience for families and young people and help build a strong connection between the two."

October 11, 2013 - Supporters' Committee statement on away ticket prices

Some supporters may be aware that there are news stories circulating that Newcastle United have proposed a £20 away ticket price for fans. Although at the moment it is just media reports and Newcastle have not confirmed the story, Liverpool Football Club has released the following statement:

"We have a very open, healthy and regular dialogue with our official LFC Supporters' Committee on all aspects of ticketing and other matters, and will continue to consider all ideas and discuss with them. Any changes that we make or implement will be as a result of that consultation and we will communicate our decisions via the committee and the club's media channels."

The LFC Supporters' Committee has raised the Football Supporters Federation-backed "20's Plenty" campaign and away ticket prices in general with the club in the past and will continue to do so.

When we raised this, the club responded: "The idea is a good one. However, we have to take it to the Premier League, as you can't collaborate with more than one club on any initiative to prevent monopolies being created."

And have more recently stated (in general, lowering of away ticketing, terms): "There seems to be a movement now to correct the system. Traditionally, the pressure has come from the bigger clubs, particularly around the pricing differences from game to game at some clubs, but the other clubs now seem to be coming round to the fact that the system is unsustainable. We will continue to push this."

Our next meeting with LFC officials is on November 10 and we will be discussing the 'Away Fan Experience' with the club. September 28, 2013 - Supporters' Committee meeting

The Supporters' Committee met with senior club officials on Friday, September 27, 2013 to discuss concerns raised by supporters with regards to our stewards using camera equipment to film supporters at LFC away matches.

The committee explained that some supporters were upset that this practice was being used and did not believe that this widespread approach was justified, which does not help the relationship between the club and its supporters. Further, that many questions have been raised in terms of the legality of stewards filming supporters.

The club responded by thanking the Supporters' Committee for bringing the matter to their attention and commented that they have received no direct complaints in regards to our stewards using such equipment and that using head/body cams as part of its matchday operations has been common practice now for three or four years across a number of the Premier League (PL) clubs. The club stated that they liaise with the opposing club and police and agree the level of security required at each match, but safety of supporters is paramount.

They said that there have been an increasing number of complaints from our own supporters, asking what the club is doing to prevent the use of pyrotechnics, especially at away grounds, which had crept in over the last year or so. They have also received complaints from the PL and other clubs - which may lead to a reduced away allocation if they do not take some form of action.

They also stated that they had tried to appeal to the fan base to stop such actions but that things had actually deteriorated last season, which led to further complaints that the club were not doing enough.

They then decided to use LFC stewards at away games to assist in deterring any supporter from misbehaving. If head/body cams are used, the cameras are only turned on when it is deemed that it will support the matchday operation from a safety and welfare point of view. The club stated that they are confident that they fully comply with the regulations about using such equipment and reiterated that their overarching aim is the safety of supporters.

The Supporters' Committee informed the club that they would be feeding this information back to supporters and would monitor any further concerns or complaints it receives in regards to this issue, and if necessary make further representations.

September 2013 - Supporters' Committee meeting

Following concerns raised, representatives from both Liverpool Football Club and the Supporters' Committee held a meeting on Sunday, September 1, to discuss the issues fans encountered with the new turnstile access system at Anfield.

During the summer, a number of changes around the stadium had been carried out and club representatives acknowledged that although the access system itself was and continues to be fully operational, the process that it adopted to ensure fans were fully aware of the new entry system and how it works should have been better. 

Because the new entry system requires fans to insert tickets/cards into the reader and then move to the turnstiles to enter, this resulted in some delays. There were further delays as some fans had to go back and re-enter which led to some additional problems.

The meeting was extremely productive and based on the feedback from the Supporters' Committee, the club published clear instructions on its website outlining the entry process and provided additional stewarding at key turnstiles to help fans with the new entry process.

These measures were introduced for the recent home game against Manchester United and the club's initial review shows that these measures have been successful. The club will continue with these additional measures for home games for the foreseeable future and will review results after each match to ensure supporters are accessing the stadium in an efficient manner.

August 2013 - LFC reduces away ticket prices

Following consultation with the Supporters' Committee, Liverpool Football Club reduced ticket prices for away fixtures during the 2013-14 Barclays Premier League campaign. The move followed a Premier League initiative, which saw each club allocate £200,000 to be used specifically to improve the away supporters' experience and maintain away attendances.

Before taking a decision on how to invest the funds this season, LFC liaised with the club's Supporters' Committee to hear its views. The club subsequently took the decision that fans would prefer a reduction in ticket costs.
