Andrea Dossena made 31 appearances for Liverpool during an 18 month stay on Merseyside.
The Italy international joined the Reds from Serie A side Udinese in July 2008 as a direct replacement for departed left-back John Arne Riise.
Dossena began his career aged 14 with Hellas Verona in northern Italy, coming through the ranks before spending four seasons in the senior squad.
His big break came when he signed for Udinese in 2005, though he was immediately loaned to Treviso FBC 1993 for a year.
The defender returned to the Stadio Friuli ahead of the 2006-07 campaign, where his form eventually earned a first international cap against South Africa in October 2007.
Rafa Benitez started to take note, and pounced when Riise agreed a move to Roma.
Dossena made his competitive debut for Liverpool in a Champions League qualifier against Standard Liege on August 13, 2008.
The Italian's first season was most notable for late goals as the Reds knocked four past both Real Madrid and Manchester United in the same week.
However, the emergence of Emiliano Insua limited the defender's first-team opportunities in 2009-10.
Dossena brought his Anfield association to an end in January 2010 when he returned to his homeland to join Napoli.
