An outstanding performance for Leicester at Filbert Street and at Anfield against Liverpool in the 1999-2000 season ignited Gerard Houllier's interest in Pegguy Arphexad and he wasted no time in snapping-up the goalkeeper on a Bosman the following summer.
Pegguy won several medals during his spell with Liverpool but because he was understudy to Sander Westerveld they were all as an unused substitute
Following his release at the end of his Liverpool contract in 2003, Arphexad spent the following season at Coventry City, although he was also sent out on loan by the Sky Blues to Notts County. He made just eight league appearances for those two clubs combined.
During the 2004-05 season he was on the books of Marseille but he failed to play in a single league match for the French south coast club during that brief period, which effectively saw the end of his professional career.
