Numerous changes were made to the forward-line in 1901-02, whereas in the championship year it had been very settled. White scored in the second minute on his debut against Everton on September 14, 1901 and was selected 5 times during the first half of the season but only once after that, his final game for the club being a goalless draw at Bury on February 1, 1902.
