Youngsters off to a flyer at Fulham
Liverpool under-18s got their FA Premier Academy League season off to a flyer with a convincing 3-1 win at Fulham on Saturday.
The Reds youngsters produced a solid display to overcome the Cottagers courtesy of goals from Adam Dawson and Lauri Dalla Valle (2).
It was the perfect start for new coach Rodolfo Borrell who was delighted with his side's commitment.
"It was a good performance and a great way to open the new season," Borrell told Liverpoolfc.tv.
"The lads worked hard, defending and attacking as a unit. We showed good order and discipline against a very tough team and got off to a great start through Dawson's goal.
"They managed to get back on terms soon after but I felt we deserved it when we regained the lead just before half-time.
"They pushed forward again in the second-half but we kept our shape and made sure of the points through Lauri's second goal.
"Obviously it's a great confidence-booster for us all. Now, we need to focus on our next game and make sure we build on today's result."
