Liverpool will be glad to see the back of Ewood Park after a suspected broken leg to Djibril Cisse over shadowed this evening's Premiership draw with Blackburn Rovers.
The Reds forward was taken to hospital after falling awkwardly
late in the first half and early indications suggest he may have
suffered the same fate as Milan Baros and Jamie Carragher at Ewood last season.
Goals from John Arne Riise and Milan Baros gave the Reds a share of
the points, but Rafa Benitez will have been devastated to see his young French striker in such despair.
If a leg break is confirmed, it is terrible bad luck for Cisse, especially as he had begun to show signs of his huge potential in recent games.
And with Tuesday's vital Champions League clash with Deportivo just days away, it gives Benitez a real headache.
He is also without Florent Sinama Pongolle after he was injured against Millwall and now has just Milan Baros and Neil Mellor to call upon as recognised strikers.
The day had started brightly for the Reds after John Arne Riise had given them a deserved lead on 7 minutes. But the home side were on terms soon after when Emerton broke the offside trap and gave Bothroyd an easy chance to score.
Emerton was Liverpool's chief tormentor all evening and it was he
who gave Blackburn the lead in first half stoppage time.
It took Liverpool just eight second half minutes to draw level though.
A good ball from Luis Garcia, who had replaced Cisse, gave Milan Baros a clear run on the Blackburn goal and he finished superbly.
Reds keeper Chris Kirkland made a great save from Dickov late in the game and John Arne Riise had to clear from his own goalline to keep the scores level.
Riise and Kewell had a chances to win the game late on, but the main talking point of this game will be Djibril Cisse's terrible injury and we will all wish him a speedy recovery.
