Fabio Aurelio insists Liverpool can still qualify for the knock-out stages of the Champions League - despite last night's heartbreaking defeat to Lyon.
The French side secured all three points with a stoppage time winner, meaning the Reds may need to win all of their three remaining games to progress.
"We knew this was a very important game for us and we needed to get a good result but it wasn't what we expected it to be," said the Brazilian.
"Everyone needs to be together and to try everything that's possible to change the situation we are in now.
"We have had this same situation in the past in this competition and we know we have three games we need to win to qualify.
"We are not showing the real Liverpool at the moment and we need to change that.
"We have to keep believing. The team has not changed a lot from the one that got 86 points in the Barclays Premier League last season and had a good campaign in the Champions League, and we need to try to put things right to make it better in the future."
Liverpool's immediate future is an Anfield showdown with Manchester United on Sunday.
"We enjoyed good results against them last year but this is a different season. We need a good result and we will try to do our best," added Aurelio.
"Every game we play for Liverpool you know the pressure is always there. We are not having the results we expect to have at the moment but we know we can change that."
