Pepe Reina hailed Fernando Torres's match-winning return to the Liverpool starting line-up and backed the striker to help fire the Reds to a top four finish.
The No.9 struck his 13th of an injury-plagued campaign to secure a 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers on Sunday afternoon and Reina reckons his compatriot is now ready to make a significant impact in the final 10 league matches of the season.
"It was great to see Fernando score because he is a key player for us," said Reina.
"We have 10 league games left now and it can make a big difference with him back in the team. He is an important player for us and hopefully he can keep scoring goals now and help us end the season with a winning run."
Torres struck a 44th minute winner in his first start since January 13 after Keith Andrews's penalty had cancelled out Steven Gerrard's opener.
Reina admits it was a difficult 90 minutes against the Lancashire outfit but feels the three points were all that mattered as the Reds kept pace with top four rivals Manchester City and Tottenham.
"It was an important game and really tough," he said.
"They put us under pressure in the final moments but we held on for a huge win. It's a great victory against a tough opponent, especially after City and Spurs won.
"It was important that we kept our good run going and we will now look to build on that in our next match."
