Fernando Torres' stunning volleyed strike against Blackburn Rovers at Anfield back in April has been named among the nominees for FIFA's Goal of 2009.

The Reds comfortably saw off the challenge of Sam Allardyce's men and cantered to a 4-0 victory - and Torres' dipping volley after controlling Jamie Carragher's forward pass will live long in the memory.

FIFA.com have included our Spanish star's strike among their top ten over the past twelve months, with Emmanuel Adebayor and Michael Essien also representing the Premier League in the running.
