Sport.co.uk understands Japanese international Keisuke Honda could be available in the January transfer window after his agent confirmed they will look a the situation in the next transfer window.
Reports out of Russia intimated that Honda is considering the exit door at CSKA Moscow after it emerged that the club were considering cashing in on either Alan Dzagoev or the Japanese international, however Honda reportedly responded by angling for a move to Europe with Arsenal, Liverpool, and AC Milan the confirmed suitors.
The 24-year-old CSKA Moscow striker has been subject of intense speculation since his successful World Cup campaign with Japan although thus far no formal bids have been launched. The most fouled striker at the World Cup is now looking into the possibility of leaving the Russian club, however it is not known how much the club will be requesting for the forward.
The Japanese international started his career at Gamba Osaka, the same club as former Arsenal player Junichi Inamoto, before moving onto Nagoya Grampus Eight, the club from whom Arsene Wenger joined the Gunners in 1996.
Reports also suggested that Arsene Wenger was aware of the commercial benefits Honda could bring the Gunners, with the Frenchman also holding the player in high esteem, naming the player his player of the tournament at the World Cup.
Kees Ploegsma told Sport.co.uk: "The club are not looking to sell the player at this moment, certainly not. He is playing well and he is doing a job for the club and they are happy.
"In January we will see, but at the moment we know nothing of concrete interest. But we will have to see which clubs need new players and who is officially interested."
Ploegsma had also initmated it relied on which club is interested in the player:
"When a big club comes in he will want to leave but at the moment that has not happened.
"There were opportunities to move but he has not had the offer from a top club, which is what we want.
"A lot of managers will be watching him after he played so well at the World Cup - now they can watch him more for CSKA and hopefully they will decide to try and do something in January."
