Liverpool have been linked with a move for Cardiff centre-half Steven Caulker as boss Brendan Rodgers bids to bolster his defence.
Rodgers is keen to strengthen his defensive options over the summer and is reportedly weighing up a move for Caulker.
The 22-year-old has indicated he would be happy to remain with the Bluebirds despite their relegation to the Championship, but it is understood that he has a relegation clause in his contract with Cardiff. Caulker has played under Rodgers before during a loan spell at the Liverpool manager's former club Swansea in the 2011-12 season.
The defender joined Cardiff in an £8million deal from Spurs last summer and the Welsh side will expect to see a profit if Caulker is to leave after his performances over the course of the campaign.
