Liverpool are showing interest in Fulham's Swedish Under-19 midfielder Muamer Tankovic, but face competition from Arsenal.
The Reds' scout for the south of England, Mel Johnson, watched Tankovic make his Fulham debut in their 3-0 FA Cup third-round replay win over Norwich City last week and is believed to have recommended him to Brendan Rodgers.
Reports last week claimed Johnson was there to watch Fulham's French Under-19 forward Moussa Dembele, who also came off the bench late on, but he is safely under contract until 2015 with an further one-year option and the Craven Cottage outfit have no intention of selling him.
The 18-year-old midfielder has been starring for the Fulham academy and under-21 teams this season and helped his club win the Premier Academy League for the past two seasons.
However, he is out of contract in the summer and Fulham are desperate to persuade him to sign a new deal - accelerating his promotion to the first-team in the hope he commits to the club.
Tankovic's agent is well aware of the interest from both Liverpool and Arsenal and the former Norrkoping youth teamer could be on the move in the summer.
