Villarreal defender Mateo Musacchio is being tracked by Liverpool.
The Daily Mail says Spanish sources state Liverpool Director of Football Strategy Damien Comolli has given the green light for manager Kenny Dalglish to pursue his interest in Musacchio, who was a product of the River Plate youth system.
Having made his debut at the age of 16, after only ten first team appearances the bright young talent made the switch to Spain where he has developed into one of the most exciting young defenders in Europe.
Liverpool fans will be hoping that a move for Musacchio can be agreed, as Anfield chiefs look to build for the long-term future of their club.
