Liverpool have discussed a deal to sign Wigan Athletic's Charles N'Zogbia in January.

N'Zogbia has been regularly watched by Liverpool's scouts this season.

Available at about £7 million, he would be a cheaper alternative to Aston Villa's Ashley Young, who is also being monitored by Tottenham and Manchester United.
