Liverpool do not know if star striker Fernando Torres will be fit to play against Everton in the Merseyside derby.
The Spaniard limped off after less than 10 minutes of Sunday's miserable defeat to Blackpool at Anfield having suffered a repeat of the groin injuries which have plagued his career.
Torres has since pulled out of Spain's squad ahead of the Euro 2012 qualifiers against Lithuania and Scotland as he begins a period of rehabilitation in a bid to regain full fitness during the international break.
But Liverpool, who are sat in the Premier League relegation zone, are still sweating on the 26-year-old's availability ahead of the trip to bitter rivals Everton on 17th October.
"He (Torres) will have intensive treatment over the next couple of weeks, but it's too early to say if he will be fit for the Everton game," said Peter Brukner, Liverpool's head of sports science.
