Liverpool are eyeing up Miralem Pjanic as a replacement for Steven Gerrard, according to reports in Italy.
Gerrard announced at the start of the year that he will be leaving Liverpool in the summer and moving to MLS side LA Galaxy.
And with their captain set to leave, Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers are said to be compiling a list of potential replacements.
Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, is right at the top of that list and Liverpool are weighing up a summer move for him.
The 24-year-old has been a regular in the Roma side this year, making 26 appearances and finding the net on three occasions.
The Serie A club are believed to be reluctant to part with Pjanic, but could be tempted by a bid of around £25m.
