Call-ups for South American trio

South American trio Javier Mascherano, Emiliano Insua and Lucas Leiva have all been called up by their countries for World Cup qualifiers over the next two weeks.

Mascherano will be joined by Anfield teammate Insua in the Argentina squad for the first time as Diego Maradons's men face decisive matches against Peru and Uruguay.

Argentina currently lie fifth in their qualifying group, with only the top four certain of a place in the finals next summer.

Meanwhile, Lucas has been called up by Brazil coach Dunga for their qualifiers against Bolivia and Venezuela.
