Emiliano Insua is celebrating today after winning his first cap for Argentina in Saturday night's dramatic World Cup qualifier with Peru in Buenos Aires.
Having been called up to the Los Albicelestes' squad for the first time, the 20-year-old full-back was handed a starting berth by coach Deigo Maradona for the crucial encounter at Monumental de Nunez.
The Liverpool defender did not disappoint, playing the entire 90 minutes and turning out an assured performance to help Argentina to a much-needed 2-1 victory that keeps their hopes of automatic qualification for next summer's tournament alive.
Insua was joined in the starting line-up by Anfield teammate Javier Mascherano, who captained the side.
Argentina are next in action on Wednesday evening when they take on Uruguay.
